David Newlands (64), Chairman

David Newlands

David Newlands was appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of Kesa Electricals plc on 13 June 2003 and is Chairman of the Nomination Committee.  He became a partner at Deloitte and Touche London in 1977 and joined Saatchi & Saatchi plc in 1986 as Group Finance Director.  Between 1989 and 1997 he was Group Finance Director of GEC plc.  He is Non-Executive Chairman of Tomkins plc, and PayPoint plc. He is also a Director of several private companies.


Thierry Falque-Pierrotin (51), Chief Executive

Thierry Falque-PierrotinThierry Falque-Pierrotin was appointed Chief Executive of Kesa Electricals plc on 5 January 2009.  He joined the PPR Group in 1990 and held various positions in the PPR Group including Chairman and CEO at Pinault Bois et Materiaux between 1997 and 2001. From 2001 he was Chairman and Chief Executive of the Redcats Group, and was a member of the PPR Group Executive Committee from 1997.  Thierry is a graduate of both ESSEC, and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.

Dominic Platt (42), Finance Director

Dominic PlattDominic Platt was appointed Finance Director of Kesa Electricals plc on 4 January 2010.

Dominic joined Cable and Wireless in 1991 and held increasingly senior roles including Manager of Corporate Finance to 2000, CFO Japan and Asia in 2001, Group Director of Internal Audit  in 2004 and from 2005 Group Financial Controller. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of England and Wales and graduated from Cambridge University with an honours degree in Classics.

Bernard Dufau (69), Non-Executive Director

Bernard DufauBernard Dufau was appointed Non-Executive Director of Kesa Electricals plc on 19 December 2003. Bernard Dufau enjoyed a highly successful career at IBM, most recently as Chairman and Country General Manager for IBM France. In a career that spanned more than 30 years with IBM, Bernard held a series of senior positions, including Assistant General Manager, Sales and Marketing, IBM France, and General Manager, Distribution Industry, IBM Europe.

Bernard is a Non-Executive Director of Dassault Systems, a French headquartered and NASDAQ quoted software company and a Non-Executive Director of France Telecom.  He is also Chairman of the Audit Committee at both companies. Bernard graduated from the Ecole Supérieur d’ Electricité.

Andrew Robb (68), Non-Executive Director

Andrew RobbAndrew Robb was appointed Non-Executive Director of Kesa Electricals plc on 13 June 2003. He is Chairman of the Audit Committee. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Laird Group plc and PayPoint plc, and a Non-Executive Director of Tata Steel Ltd a company quoted on the Bombay Stock Exchange, and a number of private companies.  Andrew worked for P&O Steam Navigation Co. from 1971 to 1989, initially as Financial Controller and, from 1983, as Group Finance Director.  From 1989 to 2001 he was Group Finance Director of Pilkington plc.  Andrew remained an Executive Director until he retired from Pilkington plc in July 2003.  Andrew is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Michel Léonard (61) Non-Executive Director

Michel LeonardMichel Léonard was appointed Non-Executive Director of Kesa Electricals plc on 8 February 2010. Michel joined the Bongrain Group in 1985 as General Manager. He then moved on to become Chairman of the Management Board of Bongrain Europe until 2000 when he became Chairman of the Management Board of Bongrain Group until 2003. From 2003-2009 he was Chairman of the Lactalis Group Management Board. Michel is a graduate of HEC School of Management, Paris.

Alan Parker CBE (64) Non-Executive Director

Alan ParkerAlan Parker was appointed Non-Executive Director of Kesa Electricals on 1 October 2010.  He was recently Chief Executive of Whitbread plc and retired from Whitbread in November 2010.  Alan joined Whitbread in 1992 as Managing Director of Whitbread Hotel Company. He became a Board member at Whitbread in May 2000, and was appointed Chief Executive in 2004 until his retirement in 2010.  Prior to this he worked for Bass and in 1985 was Managing Director of Crest Hotels Europe, based in Frankfurt, and in 1987 became Senior Vice-President of Holiday Inn Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in Brussels.

Alan is a Non-Executive Director of Justice Holdings Ltd, an investment fund registered in the British Virgin Islands and listed on the London Stock Exchange. Alan is also a Non-Executive Director of a number of private companies. Alan graduated from the University of Surrey with a BSc in Hotel & Catering Management. In 2011 Alan was appointed as President of the British Hospitality Association.

Alison Reed Non-Executive Director

Alison is a Non-Executive Director and Deputy Chairman of British Airways Plc, she is also a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee at DRS Data & Research Services plc. Her previous experience includes 21 years with Marks and Spencer plc, ultimately as Chief Financial Officer; Chief Financial Officer of Standard Life plc with responsibility for the flotation and a Non-Executive Director of HSBC Bank plc.
